Marvel Engineers engaged with key stakeholders to build a greater awareness of TMR's BIM Implementation project, assess the impact of implementing a CDE and seek feedback to improve the draft functional requirements, impact statements and process maps before finalisation.
Selecting which stakeholders to engage with was our key challenge. Having delivered infrastructure solutions for TMR over a 20 year period our understanding of TMR's project delivery lifecycle informed a 'stakeholder map'. This identified key stakeholders and user groups whom perform roles within each phase of the delivery lifecycle for the transport authority, including technical reviewers.
Diverse perspectives and insights were discovered with this approach that provided a robust test of the draft functional requirements, user stories and process maps already developed. This provided greater validation for the asset owner that the future state will achieve the implementation objectives.
Feedback received from the stakeholder engagement identified consistent themes for improvement founded on the information of data and information. This triggered updates to the CDE functional requirements and highlighted items with lesser priority for future consideration.
